Our traditional idea of a seaside holiday often consists of lying on the beach or strolling along the promenade, but Blackpool is very much an all weather resort and although many people do enjoy sunning themselves on the beach there are plenty of other things to do on Blackpool Holidays. In fact most people go to Blackpool nowadays for the entertainment and holiday attractions. There are three piers, lots of amusement arcades with all the state of the art games , the historic Blackpool tower, theatres and shows, the trams, fairground rides, a fun fair, museums, souvenir shops, fortune tellers, hundreds of snack bars, the 'Golden Mile' and the world famous Blackpool Pleasure Beach. Blackpool combines modern high tech entertainments and attractions with the appeal of a traditional British seaside resort. It is an extremely lively town with large crowds of people day and night enjoying themselves in the arcades, amusements, pubs and clubs. Christmas holidays in Blackpool are extremely popular and many hotels and guest houses provide turkey and tinsel breaks, frequently including champagne, festive meals, buffets, entertainment and partying. Visitors often enjoy breaks in the resort during November and December to carry out their Christmas shopping. New Year holidays are also busy periods as is the pigeon weekend which has become an established annual event in the town.
